Dry pressing mold design and performance characteristics

Oct 09, 2018

The design of the Dry pressing mold consists of a number of processes. The first is to collect the material, mainly about the nature, shape, size, weight and other basic information of the product to be pressed. It is best to have drawings for reference. Then design dry die according to the physical and drawing to meet the requirements of users.

The choice of mold type selects the appropriate mold structure form, material, processing method and other technical routes according to the nature and use of the product. Can carry out the overall design of dry die. Usually draw a sketch of the structure, calculate the closing height of the mold, determine the dimensions of the mold, and then design the structure of each component to determine the best solution.

When making dry pressing mold, the outer surface material is made of stainless steel because it has good anti-rust performance; while the mold inner die, the backing plate and the core material are all made of quenching hardness HRC60-HRC62 Steel, with good wear and pressure resistance, and a variety of standard size materials for pressing molds.

Although each set of molds is basically the same in structural design, there are still differences in size. Compared with the molds, the molds involve a problem of shrinkage, and the size of the molds is directly based on the inside of the mold. The outer dimensions are relatively simple and clear.

The above steps are related to each other, combined with each other, and complement each other. The dry stamper thus produced not only has good rust prevention performance, but also has good wear resistance and pressure resistance characteristics, and can be used for producing corresponding pressing in the die casting process.
