Overcoming the drawbacks of traditional ceramic mold materials with high-pressure resin materials

Ceramic molds have always been an indispensable auxiliary component for forming processes such as grouting, rolling and spinning. However, with the development and expansion of the ceramic industry, traditional ceramic molds are becoming less and less suitable for the needs of modern production. Ceramic molding molds have become an urgent requirement in the industry.


Although new mold products have been developed at home and abroad, the ceramics manufacturers still use ceramics in the molding process. This is because for the molding of ceramic products, the molds are required to have a smooth working surface and a fine copy. It has good properties, wide water absorption range and good air permeability, and it can meet the special properties of easy blanking of the blank and multiple grouting.


The ceramic mold has the advantages of abundant raw materials, low cost, simple operation, short production cycle and good water absorption performance. However, there are disadvantages in the conventional ceramic mold, for example, its performance is greatly affected by impurities, thereby shortening the service life of the mold. Because of the material, the traditional ceramic mold is easy to etch, and the moisture of the mud blank after repeated use makes the surface of the mold rough, which affects the smoothness of the product, and is likely to cause a flash mold in actual use.


For the above reasons, the repeated use rate of traditional ceramic molds is very low. In order to change this situation, it is necessary to apply advanced manufacturing techniques and materials to the production of ceramic molds to meet the development needs of the industry. At present, high-pressure resin mold materials are quite mature in technology and have been widely used in ceramic molds.


This material is mainly based on resin-based plastic materials with microporous structure. Its main features are high strength, good toughness and smooth surface. The porosity can be controlled and optimized by different processing techniques. Therefore, the ceramic mold made of the same has long service life, high molding quality, and the number of moldings can reach tens of thousands of times, which is an indispensable auxiliary product in the high pressure grouting process.
